Heirloom Family Trees, Family Crests, and Photo Restoration

Creating your unique Family Tree

You’ve spent hours and hours, oftentimes years, painstakingly researching your family’s ancestry. Now is the time to transform that research into beautiful and unique artwork which your family will treasure for generations to come.

Trees by Design will design and create an original artistic rendering of your family tree. We use no templates; all artwork is “digitally drawn by hand” on the computer. Because the artwork is digital, your finished creation will be archived and may be reproduced over and over again, and even updated as significant family events occur.

Our process begins with an initial consultation, typically one to two hours. At this consultation, we will review your research and charts, talk about missing details or elements, and discuss possible design ideas for your tree.

The work that goes into creating each tree involves:

  • reviewing your research
  • determining a basic layout and size for your unique tree
  • determining and designing your main tree design elements
(styles, typefaces, photos, family crests, etc. – the “hard” part!)
  • inputting the actual names, dates, and other research into the design
  • possibly creating custom borders and backgrounds
  • detailing and tweaking the finished art to ensure that it completely satisfies you, the customer!

Our family trees are a collaborative process linking your research results with our design abilities. Each Trees by Design creation takes about three months from start to finish, but these times may be longer depending on the complexity of the design, our current workload, and your ability to provide the information needed to complete the artwork.

Trees by Design creations make beautiful gifts for holidays, birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, religious ceremonies, family reunions, and just about any other occasion imaginable.
