Trees by Design is owned and operated by John M. Havel. He has been an artist and graphic designer his entire life, working in a variety of different media. Examples of his diverse work include:

• theatrical backdrops in New York City
• major exhibition design for the NC Museum of History (9 years)
• scientific illustrations and graphics
• logos for businesses, non-profits, and individuals
• book and publication design and formatting
• signs, posters, and other marketing graphics
• political yard signs, bumper stickers, palm cards, and mailers
